Between 2024 and 2026, I had the opportunity to make Mas for Trinidad Carnival with Berkeley Carnival Revolution, a socially-conscious mini band using recycled materials and traditional Carnival characters to advocate and protest. Across the three Carnivals, I created 4 costumes– 3 Baby Dolls, and 1 Cow.
Pick-Me wit’ She Pickney, 2024
Pick-Me wit’ She Pickney was an exploration of misogyny through the lens of the Baby Doll. Young mothers often face shame and ridicule from external and internal sources, and Pick-Me is no exception. Little more than a child herself, and lacking vital community support, she seeks validation from the same people who would exploit her further.

Made with Play Whe and lottery slips, the portrayal was a commentary on the way we let people in power play in our face about money and resources, while the lucky few continue to benefit.
Baby Mudda Earth, 2025
A reflection on motherhood in the face of climate crisis, Baby Mudda Earth wants for than money for milk, she wants you to clean up your act for your children, and your children’s children.

Durga’s Daughter, 2026
Durga’s Daughter was the physical embodiment of rage in response to Trinidad and Tobago’s rampant femicide problem. Cutlass in hand and a mouth full of blades, Durga’s Daughter took the Midnight Robber’s deadly energy to protect the women we have failed to protect.
